Grief Is the Price of Love
Hi, I’m ShaQuana.
But this space? It’s sacred—and it’s not just about me.
It’s for you.
This is a sanctuary for anyone navigating grief, trauma, or transformation.
For the ones who’ve lost someone, something, or a part of themselves they never thought they’d get back.
For the ones still learning how to breathe through the ache and bloom again.
Maybe you’re grieving a person.
Maybe you’re mourning a childhood that never felt safe.
Maybe you’re rediscovering the version of yourself who deserved softness all along.
🕊️ Why I Created This Space
I created Grief Is the Price of Love in honor of my father, Nathaniel Upshur, who passed away on September 30, 2020, one day before his 62nd birthday. That moment shattered me—but it also became the doorway to my purpose.
For years, I carried grief that had no place to land.
Grief from loss, silence, trauma, and generational wounds.
But what I’ve learned is this:
Grief is not just sorrow.
It’s the echo of love.
And that love still lives here.
